18-Year-Old Adarsh Kumar Wins $100,000 Chegg.org Global Student Prize
Adarsh Kumar, an 18-year-old Indian innovator, has been named the winner of the Chegg.org Global Student Prize 2025. Kumar received the $100,000 award for his exceptional impact on learning and society, selected from nearly 11,000 nominations across 148 countries.
Kumar's journey began at 14 when he traveled to Kota to pursue coaching for the Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination. Despite financial constraints, he utilized libraries and cold-emailing mentors to further his education.
In 2023, Kumar launched Skillzo, a platform empowering over 20,000 students with mentorship, entrepreneurship training, and real-world opportunities. His dedication and vision have transformed challenges into opportunities for others.
Internationally, Kumar has been recognized as the youngest Google Youth Advisor, joining 52 global leaders shaping technology policy. Sunny Varkey, founder of the Varkey Foundation, congratulated Kumar, highlighting his determination and impact.
At 13, Kumar launched the non-profit Mission Badlao. He secured land for a school, facilitated over 2,000 Covid vaccinations, distributed menstrual health products, and planted 3,000 trees. Kumar's achievements demonstrate his commitment to education and community development.
