In an era where innovation and sustainability are at the forefront of the housing industry, Capsule Castle, a Chinese company based in Qingzhou, is making waves with its modular, prefabricated tiny homes. Established in 2020, the company specializes in constructing homes inspired by space rockets, offering a futuristic, capsule-like architecture that is both affordable and high-quality.

The homes, which can be assembled like LEGO bricks within three days, are factory-made, quickly delivered, and quickly assembled, minimizing costs and offering a product that is a testament to the company's commitment to affordability.

Capsule Castle's homes are available in two versions: single-story and double-story. The single-story variant comes equipped with a bedroom and bathroom, while the double-decker capsule houses boast an outdoor area and more comprehensive equipment. The double-story houses also feature two curved windows offering a 360-degree view, made of 22-millimeter thick, double-glazed hollow glass.

Each generation has developed its own vision of space and space travel, and Capsule Castle's homes reflect this. The Space Age style, popularized in the late 1950s and 1960s, was influenced by the space race between the United States and the Soviet Union and what television had led us to believe about space travel. Pioneers of Space Age design, such as Hans Uhlmann, Poul Henningsen, and Eero Saarinen, were instrumental in shaping this aesthetic, particularly in the areas of furniture and lighting.

The homes produced by Capsule Castle are designed in this style, with features such as futuristic shapes, bold colors, plastic furniture, and psychedelic patterned polyester fabrics. The houses also boast a ceiling height of 3.5 meters and a total area of 28 square meters.

One unique aspect of these homes is their support system. The double-story capsule house is supported by three support legs and has a retractable staircase to enter the interior. The houses do not require a foundation and stand on a concrete platform that is screwed to the ground.

All designs are individually customizable, with prices starting at 15,000 euros. The company, with a team of 30 employees, produces more than 50 houses per month. The first article about these innovative homes appeared in AD España.

The space age enthusiasm, reflected not only on the screen but also in architecture and design, continues to influence the way we think about housing. With Capsule Castle, this vision of the future is now within reach for many.
