In the heart of Saarland, the city of St. Ingbert is gearing up for another exciting summer with its annual Fun Ferien Dengmert program. Now in its fifth edition, this summer vacation project is designed specifically for children and young people, offering a diverse range of activities from July 1 to August 17, 2025[1].

This year's program promises an engaging and varied leisure experience, with a broad spectrum of recreational activities that encourage adventure and social interaction. The program is organized in collaboration with local clubs and organizations, including the Obst- und Gartenbauverein (Fruit and Gardening Club)[2][4][5], to create an exciting itinerary for young people. Activities range from outings and event days on the Farrenberg area, to nature projects, sports, creative workshops, digital topics, and insights into Samurai culture[6].

Minister President Anke Rehlinger recently visited the program on site at the Farrenberg in Oberwürzbach, where she was warmly welcomed by local councilor Dunja Sauer. The Obst- und Garten Association 2018 e. V. welcomed her with a lovingly maintained orchard and relaxation area[3]. During her visit, Minister President Rehlinger interacted with four calmly grazing donkeys and was shown various flora and fauna by the children[7].

The Fun Ferien Dengmert 2025 program includes a donkey hike, the construction of insect hotels, and the creation of a wild bee bed. Last year, volunteers built an impressive "Beetle Larva Castle" with over 200 meters of dead wood[8]. This year, the program boasts a total of 21 associations and organizations participating with 47 program points[9].

Minister President Rehlinger expressed her gratitude for the vibrancy of volunteer work and dedication to youth work in the region. She was also presented with a gift basket of homemade goods by Margit Frenzel-Klemsch, the first chairperson of the OGV[10]. Markus Frenzel, who leads the Obst- und Garten Association, emphasized the importance of allowing children to play and experience nature without distraction[11].

As part of her visit, Minister President Rehlinger was surprised to find a sign with the poem "Herr von Ribbeck on Ribbeck in the Havelland" next to a pear tree[12]. After examining a wasp spider, it was released back into the wild[13].

Families can register their children for the activities at www.st-ingbert.feripro.de[14]. For more information and event schedules, visit the official St. Ingbert children’s holiday portal. The Fun Ferien Dengmert 2025 is a community-supported summer holiday activity series designed to provide children and youth in St. Ingbert with fun, varied experiences such as outdoor adventures, cultural activities, and group events until mid-August[1][2][4].
