Apple Lovers: Annual Pressing Event Returns in August
Apple enthusiasts, mark your calendars! The annual apple pressing event is back, kicking off at the end of August with around 20-22 dates scheduled. This year, registration is handled by Bernd Frank from the Garden and Flower Friends Association, and the minimum delivery is 50 kg, capping at 500 kg per day.
To ensure a smooth process, it's advised to schedule your delivery 10-14 days in advance. Pre-washed apples are preferred, but due to staff shortages, help with washing, filling, and weighing is appreciated. Once delivered, apples are chopped, pressed, sterilized, and bottled in 5-liter bags using a box system. The apple pulp can be disposed of by spreading it under fruit trees for fertilization.
The registration for apple pressing in 2022 is done by sending a brief email to the NABU internet editorial team at [email protected]. Specific dates for the pressing event are arranged by phone, with Quince also being pressed towards the end of the season.
With a moderate apple harvest expected this year, there's plenty of opportunity to participate. Don't miss out on your chance to enjoy fresh, homemade apple juice. Register now with Bernd Frank and get ready to press!
