Attendend the shooting festival in Friedrichsfeld provides the optimal route to your destination.

The BSV Friedrichsfeld's shooting festival is set to take place from August 8 to 10 at Ullrichstraße, Voerde, near the Wesel-Datteln Canal. Due to ongoing construction in Ullrichstraße, visitors may encounter some challenges in reaching the festival grounds.

The shooting festival, a bit smaller this year, will kick off on Friday, August 8. The shooting for the title of day king and day princess will begin on the festival grounds at 7 PM on Friday. On Saturday, August 9, the battalion will march with the Musikvereinigung Obrighoven from Bürgerhaus Friedrichsfeld to the community center at 8:30 AM.

To navigate the construction situation, here are some tips:

  1. Check Local Detour Signs: Construction zones usually have marked detours. Follow any posted signs directing traffic away from Ullrichstraße.
  2. Use Nearby Main Roads: In Voerde Friedrichsfeld, you might approach the festival grounds via alternative streets such as Voerder Straße, Hauptstraße, or Am Sportplatz.
  3. GPS / Map Apps: Use a navigation app (Google Maps, Waze) and input "BSV Friedrichsfeld Schützenfestplatz" or similar. These apps update for construction and will suggest the best alternative routes.
  4. Public Transport: Consider checking if there are public buses that stop near the festival grounds. Sometimes public transit routes avoid construction areas or provide shuttle services.
  5. Local Contacts: If you have any local contacts or event organizers, ask them for recommended parking or access during the construction.

The festival will be a joyful affair, despite the changes. On Saturday, a joint lunch will take place in the shooting hall at 1 PM, and the guest associations will be received and the day king and day princess will be proclaimed at 7 PM. The Musikvereinigung Obrighoven and DJ Werner will provide music, with the festival concluding with a brunch on the festival grounds at 11 AM on Sunday, August 10.

This year, the festival will crown a day king and a day princess instead of a regular shooting king. Marvin Fengels, the current shooting king of BSV Friedrichsfeld, has stated that the expected revenue is uncertain. The association will lay a wreath in the Bürgerpark at 11:30 AM on Saturday.

Please note that the bridge over the canal, a common access point, is not available due to railway line expansion works. Visitors can reach the shooting festival by turning left onto Emmelsumer Straße from the B8 towards Wesel, then turning left again at the next street (Im großen Feld), passing by Haus Erika, then turning right onto Ullrichstraße until reaching the canal.

We hope these tips help you navigate the construction and enjoy the festivities at the BSV Friedrichsfeld's shooting festival.

Even with construction in Ullrichstraße, you can still enjoy the BSV Friedrichsfeld's shooting festival. To make your experience smoother, consider using GPS/map apps, following local detour signs, or taking public transportation. Additionally, the home-and-garden section of the festival promises a joint lunch in the shooting hall and a proclamation of the day king and day princess on Saturday.
