Australian Cooperative Farming Game, Dinkum: Immerse in an Authentic Aussie Experience, Complete with Trying to Make Foreigners Sample Vegemite!

Yoo, Mate! Hit the Aussie Outback with Dinkum

Rewind to 2022, when Dinkum, a fascinating blend of Stardew Valley and Crossing Vibes, entered Early Access. As summed up by Lauren Morten, it "sits comfortably in the middle, offering village construction, fishing, and insect catching, alongside farming and livestock raising, all while breaking free from the confines of real-world time."

With a name that screams Aussie spirit, Dinkum delivers on all fronts, promising a farming life sim immersed in the wonders of the Australian outback - think sunshine, spacious landscapes, and the irresistible cuteness of wombats.

Leaving Early Access behind and stepping into version 1.0 in April 2023, Dinkum introduced an exciting Creative Mode. Now, players can command the elements, tweaking weather conditions, controlling animal spawning points, and tinkering with other variables. The update also debuted a terrarium where you can store all those buzzing critters you've captured, a flyable plane, a town bell to locate each villager, new rentable guest houses, four more quirky villagers, and more.

Originally known as Town Under, the town is crucial as it provides a home for your vibrant Australian character cast. Each arrival greets you with a friendly "G'day mate," and since its 1.0 release, they've all claimed their inventories, allowing you to distribute tools for a helping hand and spruce up their outfits for a stylish look.

While Dinkum promises to free us from the waiting game that comes with games like Animal Crossing, it also delivers on its promise of authentic Aussie-ness. From kangaroos and crocodiles to Hills Hoist washing lines, scrub turkeys, eucalyptus trees, rusty windmills, and those iconic police hats, the Aussie charm is strong.

Dinkum, the down-under gem, launched on Steam after its 1.0 release in April 2023. And, as announced during the PC Gaming Show 2025, it'll be available for purchase from June 12.
