The much-anticipated Gong Xi Fa Chai bazaar is set to return to Miri, Malaysia, from January 28 to February 2. This annual event, held a few weeks before Chinese New Year, is a popular cultural celebration featuring numerous stalls selling food, drinks, clothes, decorations, and cultural performances such as lion and dragon dances every evening [1].

For those planning to attend, it's essential to consider parking options and parking regulations during the event. While specific details about parking during the Gong Xi Fa Chai bazaar were not found in the search results, it's important to note that during major public events in Miri, local authorities typically implement temporary traffic management schemes and designated parking zones to control the flow of visitors and minimize traffic congestion. Indiscriminate parking in such busy areas may lead to penalties, such as fines or towing, enforced by local traffic authorities to maintain order and safety.

Official parking lots or areas near the event venue are recommended. It's also advisable to follow any traffic signs or instructions from enforcement personnel and avoid parking along no-parking zones or obstructing traffic lanes. For precise information on parking during the Gong Xi Fa Chai bazaar in upcoming years, checking local government or event organiser announcements close to the event date will offer the most accurate and updated guidance.

In the meantime, visitors can park their vehicles at the city council's multi-storey car park, the private car park of former Miri wharf, or at the parking lots at Centre Point Commercial Centre. Notably, a RM1 charge will be applied at the private car park at former Miri wharf starting from 7pm onwards. On a positive note, the multi-storey car park and parking lots at Centre Point will be free from 6pm until midnight.

The bazaar will be located at Kingsway and High Street, with approximately 260 stalls, each with a 20 feet canopy, set up for the annual event. The stalls along Kingsway embankment will start their operations a week before the rest of the bazaar. About 90% of the stalls have been taken up by Chinese and non-Chinese traders.

To ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the bazaar, traffic police and enforcement from the city council will be deployed to monitor and regulate traffic flows. The lighting and decoration around and within the bazaar have been put up by the chamber, adding to the festive atmosphere.

For those looking forward to the Gong Xi Fa Chai bazaar, remember to plan your parking and follow traffic regulations for a safe and enjoyable experience. Happy New Year in advance!
