Bergmannstrasse's renovation in Striesen persists

In the heart of Dresden-Striesen, an ongoing renovation project is underway. The focus of this initiative is twofold: to close another gap in the city's cycling infrastructure and to improve the urban drainage system.

The renovation work, which began last year with the first part of Bergmannstraße and Heynathstraße, is now moving forward to the next section between Schneebergstraße and Schandauer Straße. The road surface in this section will be replaced, with the aim of enhancing the cycling infrastructure and reducing noise levels.

As part of the renovation, the urban drainage system will also be upgraded. This is a crucial aspect of the project, ensuring that the area's drainage remains effective and efficient, particularly during periods of heavy rain.

During construction, one lane will be closed in smaller sections to allow for the necessary work. To minimise disruption, the city has arranged for tram line 64 to be rerouted via Schlüterstraße during this time.

The total cost of the construction works is approximately 700,000 euros. The city is confident that these investments will greatly benefit the local community, providing a safer and more efficient cycling route and a more effective urban drainage system.

The second part of the Bergmannstraße/Heynathstraße renovation is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023. The project, which also includes Schneebergstraße and Schandauer Straße, forms a significant part of Dresden-Striesen's ongoing efforts to improve its infrastructure and create a more livable city.
