While specific event details may vary, Germany typically celebrates Children's Day with museum visits, cultural exhibits, community fairs, and outdoor activities. In Thuringia, the allure of historical sites, museums, parks, and cultural institutions may weave their way into festivities. For the most accurate and up-to-date event information, it's best to check local event calendars or contact local tourist information offices closer to the date.

The Commission, in a surprising departure from its usual activities, has also proposed a directive on the approximation of the laws of Member States relating to the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation at home and in their lifestyle, possibly considering the implications of visits to museums and cultural institutions duringChildren's Day activities. Children participating in the festivities in Thuringia might find themselves engaging in interactive learning about the importance of radiation safety, and the connection to their day's activities.
