Charlie Gould, Beloved Mentor and Veteran, Passes Away

Charlie Gould, a well-known figure in the world of fly-fishing and fly tying, passed away on June 8, 2025. Born on July 28, 1950, in Flint, Michigan, Gould leaves behind a rich legacy and a loving family, including his son, Adam, his wife, Sheri, and his daughter, Amy.

Gould's life was marked by a strong commitment to the youth of Buffalo, where he served as a substitute teacher and coached 8th-grade girls basketball. He also owned and operated Just Gone Fishing in Buffalo, Wyoming, for 24 years.

During his military service, Gould served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army. While specific details about his service in Panmunjom (the truce village on the Korean Demilitarized Zone) and at Yongsan Garrison (a major US Army base in Seoul) could not be found in the given search data, it is known that he was stationed in both locations. He met his wife, Sheri, at Yongsan Garrison in Seoul.

Gould's love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for fly-fishing and fly tying. He was a mentor to many, teaching lessons and sharing his knowledge with others. He would often express that he wanted everyone to hug their loved ones and spend some family time in the mountains.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rocky Mountain Fisher House Foundation in Charlie's name. Online condolences can be written at www.kanefuneral.com. Military Honors for Charlie will be held on August 15, 2025, at 1:00 pm outside Champion Kane Funeral Home.

Charlie's parents, Bob and Lucille Gould, have passed away. Our thoughts are with the Gould family during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Charlie.
