Vladivostok's Giant Screen Photography Showcase: An Immersive Experience

Vladivostok has been buzzing with excitement as the lineup for its Citywide Last Bell Event has been announced! At the "May Days" festival, the "Port of Registry - Vladivostok" photo project held a captivating presentation, showcasing the best works from their extensive history.

According to curator Anton Novgorodov, this project goes beyond just a competition or exhibition; it's a long-term visual study of the city, created by its residents. And the icing on the cake? The finalists' works continue to live and travel, captivating audiences at various venues.

Currently taking place in Khabarovsk, the works from "City Rhythms", "City of Winds", and "ART Version" collections have already graced the festival. On Sunday, the exhibit "Style Beyond Seasons" will take center stage.

The unique charm of this presentation at "May Days" lies in the way the works are displayed on a giant screen. Anton Novgorodov explains, "For viewers, it's a new and exhilarating experience. When a cityscape or portrait envelops several square meters, viewers can immerse themselves in every nook and cranny of the frame - details unseen on social media become crystal clear."

Art director Anastasia Telychko shared that the project is now in its fourth year and draws an impressive number of contributions each year. For a photographer, she says, seeing their work displayed on a giant screen is a huge honor. "It's when photography truly comes to life, when you get up close and personal, noticing every minute detail," explains Telychko.

This time around, they received a whopping 2224 works, with 165 making it to the final - a fitting tribute to the 165 years of Vladivostok's celebration.
