In September 2025, the city of Gütersloh will host the eleventh edition of the "Living Gardens" event series. Organised by the Environmental Protection Department and the Volkshochschule, this year's program promises to be diverse and informative, with a total of 15 events focused on practical topics related to garden design, vegetable cultivation, and sustainability.

The event series kicks off in September with four offers. Garden planner Daniela Toman will lead a tour through the city park and the botanical garden on Friday, September 19, from 4 to 5:30 pm. On the same day, garden expert Dr. Heidi Lorey will deliver a talk on growing winter vegetables at 7:30 pm at the VHS building.

On September 25, garden architect Tanja Minardo will give a lecture on "The Garden in Climate Change" at 7:30 pm at the VHS building, Hohenzollernstraße 43. The lecture will focus on promoting the concept of natural gardens that bring nature into private green spaces and make it a partner, especially in the context of climate change.

The range of topics for the "Living Gardens" event series extends to vegetable culture, modern and nature-friendly garden design, and wild herb cuisine. Further details about individual events and the entire "Living Gardens" program can be found on the website of the Volkshochschule Gütersloh at www.vhs-gt.de. Registrations for individual events can be made on the website, by phone, or by email.

The brochure for the "VHS Theme Series: Living Gardens in Gütersloh" is also available at the Environmental Consultation of the city of Gütersloh. For those who are interested in gardening, whether experienced enthusiasts or beginners, this event series promises to be an enriching experience.
