Delay: Cymone Wilder's Interruption
Who's this, ya ask?
Hailing from the backwoods of Illinois, but currently residing in the heart of Nashville, I go by Cymone Wilder. By day, I'm a full-fledged designer at SmileDirectClub, and by night (and weekends), I'm a freelance lettering artist and designer, rockin' the name Simon and Moose. When I ain't busy sketchin' and designin', I spend my time snappin' photos, indulging in far too much grub, and hangin' with friends 'round the fire.
What's keepin' me busy?
At SmileDirectClub, I'm workin' on a whole mess of emails, a mural for our NYC shop, some retail packaging, and a few other odd jobs. As for Simon and Moose, I've got some new product labels for States Coffee, a handful of wine labels, and I'm attemptin' to paint a flag for my home office—we'll see how that turns out!

This piece right here is one of my favorites. I really enjoyed the detail I added, and it was a breath of fresh air after I was stuck in a creative rut for a couple weeks. Since I love Nashville more than life itself, I always create stuff about or for the city. This one might just be my top choice.
Tell me about my workspace.
My setup's kinda rough and ready, but it's portable. I'm usually kickin' it on the floor at home or in a coffee shop, and I've found some of my best work comes from the coffee shop, where I can focus better. I produce most of my work by hand, usin' anything from a basic Bic mechanical pencil to fancy ink pens that cost more than my first car.

I've seen some incredible stuff, but Ryan Putnam never fails to impress me. His ceramics, illustrations, and design work are simply unmatched. Now that I'm working on a couple packaging projects, he's a huge inspiration. Do yourself a favor and check out his stuff—you won't be disappointed.
