In the heart of Loitz, Germany, a significant renovation project has come to a successful conclusion. The new street, named Stone Gate, has been built, and with it, a section of drinking water pipe and a hydrant have been renovated in the direction of the garden area adjacent to the alley.

The construction work, which began in mid-September 2024, saw the timber-framed gable of a house in the outer row of Stone Gate being supported during construction to prevent settlement cracks and other damage. Fear not, as the supported timber-framed gable has since been dismantled after protecting the house during construction.

The construction costs for Stone Gate were approximately 526,000 euros, with BIG urban development funding the majority of the investment. The city's own contribution to the investment was approximately 227,000 euros.

The new street now provides sufficient space for delivery and waste vehicles to turn around without complications, a feature that was much-needed and highly appreciated by the residents of the new street. They have expressed their pleasure with the result of the months-long construction work.

Mayor Christin Witt expressed gratitude to the residents for their understanding during the construction process. Major complaints, she stated, were not known during the construction work. There were construction phases where post and delivery personnel had a challenge reaching the entrances, but no complaints were received about this.

René Hassenstein, the building authority director, is responsible for tasks such as building acceptance for the construction on Stone Gate. The entire new construction has been completed and inspected by experts, ensuring the quality and safety of the renovation work.

As for the history and recent development of Stone Gate Street, further research is needed to uncover more details. The local municipal office, German infrastructure databases, and regional news outlets would likely provide valuable insights into the story behind this renovation project.
