Exhibition at Park University to Showcase RE: Generation Community Artists' Works
A unique art exhibit, titled RE: Generation, is set to open at Park University's Campanella Gallery on Tuesday, February 18, and run until Saturday, April 26. This exhibition, located within Norrington Center on the Parkville Campus, showcases a diverse range of media, content, styles, and techniques, all with themes of family, environment, and culture running throughout.
RE: Generation is a collective of Kansas City-area artists, founded in 2014 by Sharon Hunter-Putsch. The group is a loose-knit assembly of women artists who share common history, generational, and gender experiences. The exhibit features works by artists including Hunter-Putsch, Donna Bachmann, Janet Kuemmerlein, Jane Pronko, Lynn Richardson, Catherine Vesce, Diana Werts, Megan Wyeth, and Carol Zastoupil.
The Campanella Gallery is open to the public and admission is free. Visitors can explore the gallery from Monday to Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, 4 to 9 p.m. However, during Park's Spring Break week (March 8-16), the gallery will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays, but open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A reception for the artists will be held on Friday, April 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Gallery. This exhibit is dedicated in the memory of Sharon Hunter-Putsch, the founder of RE: Generation, who passed away in October 2024.
