Established in 1955, the Zoo Association acts as the main partner of the Grüne Zoo, aiding its development through various channels such as facility and building financing, technical equipment acquisition, nature and species conservation projects, research support, and zoopedagogical educational work. The association has also taken on two new ventures, "Visiotopia" and the "Rivers of Sulawesi" facility.
Currently, the Zoo Association has achieved an impressive milestone—boasting over 2,200 members, with an additional 70 joining this year!
