Exploration of the Puppet Theatre
On Sunday, January 7, 2018, the Pforzheim City Museum and the Marionette Theater "Mottenkäfig" are inviting the public to a special event. This event offers a unique opportunity to explore the world of marionette theatre in an in-depth way.
The day begins with a guided tour of a special exhibition at the Pforzheim City Museum. At 3 pm, the tour moves to the Marionette Theater "Mottenkäfig" in the foyer, where the Marionette Theater Discovery Tour starts.
The Discovery Tour provides insights into the history of the "Mottenkäfig", its marionettes, and the selection of plays over the past 50 years. This tour is a "combo package" that also includes a multi-visual show revealing hidden insights into the creation of the theater stage.
At 4 pm, the marionettes of the "Mottenkäfig" can be experienced live in the production "The Little Kangaroo Learns to Fly" at the theater in Kirchenstraße. After the performance, speakers and players offer Q&A, behind-the-scenes views, and a look into the workshops of the puppet theater.
Participants have the opportunity to try operating the marionettes on a stage. A valid entrance ticket is required to participate in the discovery tour. Tickets can be purchased on-site, online, or at Reservix advance sales points.
The price for the discovery tour is 6 euros. The event is open to the public, implying it is not a private event. The Pforzheim City Museum is also involved in the event, making it a joint celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Marionette Theater "Mottenkäfig".
After the event, the tour concludes with a visit to the children's play "The Little Kangaroo Learns to Fly". This play is sure to delight both children and adults alike, providing a perfect ending to a day filled with marionette magic.
