Family Kolping of Schrobenhausen securing a prosperous future ahead
The Kolping family in Gerolsbacher Street celebrated a significant milestone in 2024, marking its 75th anniversary. The highlight of the year was marked by a festive service, attended by Bishop Wolfgang Kretschmer, Father Norbert M. Becker, banner delegations from the entire Altbayern/Paargau district, and many others.
During the service, Father Norbert M. Becker conducted a Kolping Mass "for people like you" with a project choir. The event was a fitting tribute to Kolping's mission of community support and social solidarity, values that have been at the heart of the organisation for seven and a half decades.
The festive service also marked a turning point for the Kolping family, as the current president, City Priest Georg Leonhard Bühler, stepped down due to his departure. The future city priest Florian Stadlmayr was elected as the new president, signalling a new chapter in the organisation's journey.
Alongside the leadership change, there were changes in the board as well. Pius Hellmich joined the board, while Herbert Werner took over as secretary, replacing Stefan Mayer. Anna Mayer joined the leadership team, replacing Daniela Dörfler.
The treasurer's report by Jonas Behrendt showed that the regular collections of old materials and the monthly recycling container service remain the main source of income for the Kolping family. The membership fees are forwarded in full to the Kolping Society in Cologne.
The outgoing auditors, Anton Stichlmair and Regina Reiter, proposed the discharge of the board, which was unanimously accepted. They thanked Sigi Natzer for his 42 years of board work, shared responsibility, and active involvement, and bid him farewell with a gift basket.
The Kolping family also took a moment to mourn the loss of an honorary member, Hubert Haberer.
As the Kolping family begins a new three-year term, it continues to remain actively engaged in humanitarian efforts, providing support to those in need, such as the Ukrainians affected by the ongoing war. The organisation's focus on community support and social solidarity remains unwavering.
