German unity day commemorated in Hamburg during 2023

The city will present itself as a digital hub, showcasing innovative mobility solutions, startups, and information on artificial intelligence. Universities and research institutions will also showcase numerous science projects and institutions, providing insights into the latest research and technological advancements.
Sustainability is a key focus of the celebrations, with around 35 institutions, associations, and companies showcasing their projects at the Neuer Jungfernstieg. Visitors can expect to learn about eco-friendly initiatives, renewable energy solutions, and innovative approaches to environmental conservation.
Over 60 associations, foundations, and institutions will present their community engagement at Ballindamm, providing an opportunity to learn about the city's diverse cultural heritage and its commitment to social responsibility.
Miniatur Wunderland, one of Hamburg's most popular attractions, will have a special exhibition, "The Divided City - A Pictured History of German Division and Reunification," depicted in nine miniature worlds. This exhibition will offer a unique perspective on the history of German reunification and is set to open on October 7, 2023.
The citizen's festival around the Binnenalster will include the traditional state mile, offerings from the four constitutional bodies, and a "Night of Unity" with various cultural events. The NDR Alster stage at Jungfernstieg will offer cultural performances throughout the day.
