Green Spaces Expansion: Over 1,100 Green Zones to Be Developed in Kuban by 2030 (As per Kondratyev)
In the heart of Russia's southern region, Krasnodar Krai, a significant transformation is underway. The Governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, has announced plans to enhance public spaces under the national project "Infrastructure for Life."
Over the past five years, 57 squares and boulevards have seen improvements, and since 2019, over 1,400 public spaces have been revitalized. This ongoing effort aims to make cities and towns more comfortable and modern.
The project includes the development and renovation of urban and rural public spaces, such as parks, squares, and recreational zones. Pedestrian areas are being improved, with modern lighting and backlighting installed, and greenery is being planted to increase the quality of life.
Transport infrastructure is also being upgraded, ensuring accessibility in public spaces. Investments are being made in social infrastructure, with playgrounds, sports facilities, and cultural spaces being installed in the areas being improved.
Three unique projects, winners of an All-Russian competition, will be implemented this year. These include the central square in Armavir, the territory along the river in Korenevsk, and the embankment in Taman. By the end of 2026, another 174 territories will be reconstructed, including projects like the embankment in Gelendzhik, parks in Korenevsk, Kurganinsk, and Ust-Labinsk.
By 2025, 103 green zones will be improved, and by the end of 2030, over 1,150 public spaces will be updated. From 2027 to 2030, 218 different territories will be improved each year.
The improvements do not stop at aesthetics. Infrastructure for people with disabilities will be included in the improvements, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the revitalized public spaces.
Krasnodar Krai, with its strong port and tourism infrastructure, has investments exceeding 500 billion rubles. Part of this investment may extend to public space improvements as a complement to broader infrastructure development by 2030.
