The Oldtimer and Tractor Meeting at the Agroneum in Alt Schwerin, Germany, marked its 30th anniversary this year, attracting enthusiasts, historians, and the public to celebrate and appreciate the mechanical and agricultural heritage of the region.

Held at the Agroneum, an open-air museum dedicated to agricultural history, the event showcased a diverse collection of old tractors, farming machinery, and other historical agricultural artifacts. Highlights included the debut of a mower binder at the Agroneum, adding a new piece to the museum's extensive collection.

The Agroneum, a cultural and educational site, serves as a vital preservation of rural and agricultural heritage in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district. The Oldtimer and Tractor Meeting is a key event that brings together enthusiasts and the public, providing a tangible connection to past farming practices and machinery.

The event's guests of honour, including Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's Minister of Agriculture, Till Backhaus, praised the event as a living cultural heritage. The meeting's popularity is evident in the various related events like the Oldtimertreffen in Schwerinsdorf, showcasing a broader regional interest in celebrating historic vehicles.

A significant highlight of the event was the traditional tractor parade, with over 70 participants touring Alt Schwerin. Live music was provided by the band "Heizraum" on Saturday evening, while the "Mecklenburger Cowboy" entertained the crowd with musical performances in the afternoon on the open field.

The event was not just a technical exhibition but also a family festival, featuring a large parts market, bustling market activities, hearty farm food, and various children's offerings. The museum received a jubilee plaque from the chainsaw artist, Sabrina Bartz, and Mr. and Mrs. Jungnickel from Parchim handed over their photo collection of over 20 years of the Oldtimer and Tractor Meeting to the museum director, Anke Gutsch.

The tractors and agricultural machinery displayed at the event are considered living ambassadors of a rural lifestyle deeply connected to nature, craftsmanship, and community. The Oldtimer and Tractor Meeting at the Agroneum in Alt Schwerin remains a significant cultural event in the area, actively preserving and presenting agricultural history while fostering community among enthusiasts.
