Lab Focus: Highlighting Lina Thuresson, Textile Design Lab Member
Sweden-born textile designer Lina Thuresson, a member of the Textile Design Lab, has shared her journey into the design world. Having lived in the U.S. and currently residing in the South of France, Thuresson transitioned from marketing to surface pattern design, finding endless possibilities in the creative field. Her designs are available on Society6, Redbubble, Threadless, and Spoonflower.
Thuresson's journey into the Textile Design Lab was instrumental in her growth as a designer. The Surface Pattern Design Mastery course offered valuable insights into pattern layouts, and constructive feedback provided by industry experts and fellow lab members motivated her throughout the process.
Following the mastery course, Thuresson honed her skills with The Sellable Sketch, focusing on home décor. This course led to the creation of her best-selling collection, the Bluebell collection, setting a new direction in her work, which often features hand-painted designs rather than digital motifs.
Thuresson finds the Textile Design Lab community invaluable, particularly in providing constructive feedback and helping to ease insecurities. At present, she is working on a collection inspired by Swedish landscapes, as initiated during the Textile Design Lab Branding course.
