In an exciting development for manga enthusiasts, the North American debut of the "This is MANGA - The Art of NAOKI URASAWA" exhibition is set to take place at our website Los Angeles, a unique, innovative project conceived by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The exhibit, spanning two floors at Hollywood & Highland, will feature a gallery space, a Japanese restaurant, a relaxing library, an event venue, and spectacular views of Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles.

The exhibit, running from January 23 to March 28, 2019, will showcase over 400 original drawings and storyboards from seven of Urasawa's major works. These works, renowned for their intricate storytelling, psychological depth, and character development, include Yawara!, Master Keaton, Happy!, Monster, 20th Century Boys (and its sequel 21st Century Boys), Pluto, and Billy Bat. Among these, Monster, 20th Century Boys, and Pluto have received significant acclaim and awards, with Pluto being a manga remake of Osamu Tezuka's Tetsuwan Atom (Astro Boy) story arc.

To complement the exhibition, a series of interactive workshops will be offered by Los Angeles-based animator and illustrator, MinoMiyabi. These workshops will provide attendees with the opportunity to delve deeper into the world of manga and comics.
