Ludwigsburg Seeks Traditional Apples for County Cider Project

The agriculture administration in Ludwigsburg is seeking apples from traditional orchards for its county cider project. Interested parties are invited to contribute to the preservation of valuable cultural landscapes and support the work on traditional orchards.

The project requires a total of 3000 kilograms of late, well-ripened apples from traditional orchards. Small quantities are welcome. Apples must be healthy, ripe, without blemishes, and handpicked. The fruit collection will take place on October 11, 2025, from 2 to 4 pm at the OGV teaching garden of the OGV Sachsenheim.

To participate, interested parties should register by October 8, 2025, via email, providing their name, location, phone number, and estimated delivery quantity. For further information, contact the advisory service for fruit and vegetable growing, department of agriculture, or visit their website.

The cider project aims to support the work on traditional orchards and manual harvesting. By contributing apples, participants help preserve valuable cultural landscapes and their diverse species. The new batch of county cider requires apples from traditional orchards on the platform.
