Mahé Cookery School: Luxury Culinary Experience Opens in Padstow

Mahé Cookery School, a luxurious and glamorous space, opened in Padstow this summer. The school offers daytime classes and an exclusive chef's table experience, all set within a transformed one-bedroom flat. It's named after the Seychelles island where Paul Ainsworth's parents met, and showcases Cornish produce.

Emma Ainsworth and Eve Cullen-Cornes designed the cookery school, aiming to create a welcoming atmosphere. The interior features elements from Paul's childhood, such as chandeliers made from bike wheels and metal inlays in the kitchen. The space is led by John Walton, the executive chef and right-hand-man of Paul Ainsworth.

The electrical installation was carried out by AMPS Electrical Services Ltd. They handled the lighting control system, fire alarm, and ventilation. Johnson Carpentry and Joinery, led by Chris Johnson who has worked with Paul Ainsworth on multiple projects, manufactured and installed all internal joinery, workspace units, entrance door, and terrace finishes.

Mahé Cookery School stands as a testament to the collaboration between talented designers, craftsmen, and chefs. It offers a unique culinary experience, blending luxury, nostalgia, and local produce.
