Martha Stewart-branded retail stores launch independently, with locations debuting in Dubai initially
Martha Stewart Stores Expanding Globally with New Locations in Dubai, India, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia
The Martha Stewart brand is embarking on an international expansion, with new stores set to open in Dubai, India, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. This move is part of a broader strategy by Marquee Brands, a company that manages a portfolio of recognized retailers, including BCBGMaxAzria, A Pea in the Pod, Ben Sherman, and Laura Ashley, which it acquired at the start of this year.
The Martha Stewart stores, designed to provide inspiration and practical ideas for making homes more beautiful, comfortable, and functional, are not the first retail destinations for the brand. They are, however, a unique experience, offering an "immersive" shopping experience that reflects Martha Stewart's style and attention to detail.
The flagship stores are not just points of purchase, but destinations for discovery, inspiration, and exceptional design. The first such store in Dubai opened in May 2023, and another is planned to open later this summer.
Marquee Brands has partnered with retail conglomerate Apparel Group, headquartered in Dubai, for the expansion. Besides the Martha Stewart stores, the partnership has resulted in the opening of the first Sur La Table store in Dubai. Apparel Group holds licenses to operate Martha Stewart stores in the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries: UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.
While there may be potential for rollout into other GCC countries like Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman, only Dubai, India, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia have been confirmed for new store openings so far. No other countries beyond these have been officially named or scheduled for Martha Stewart retail stores according to the latest 2025 reports.
The Martha Stewart stores feature products in categories including kitchenware, bedding, bath, home fragrance, and entertaining. This expansion marks a significant step for the brand, bringing its unique shopping experience to a global audience.
In addition to the Martha Stewart stores, Marquee Brands has expanded its portfolio to include Sur La Table, a high-end cookware and kitchenware retailer, which it bought out of bankruptcy in 2020 for around $89 million in a joint venture with CSC Generation.
