NABU cordially invites you to an Open House event
On the 7th of September, from 11 am to 5 pm, the Eva-Lorenz Environmental Station/NABU Station in Neersen is opening its doors for an exciting Open Day. Located at Pappelallee 20a, Vinhoven School, visitors are invited to join this educational and enjoyable event.
During the Open Day, various activities and information stands are available for all ages. A birdhouse sale and information stand will be present, providing an opportunity for bird enthusiasts to learn more about birdhouses and purchase some for their own gardens.
For those interested in creating or enhancing their outdoor spaces, consultations on gravel gardens and consultations on hornets will be offered. If you're curious about wild bees, you can head inside the station to learn more about them.
In addition to these educational opportunities, a diverse children's program has been planned. Children can engage in creative craft and painting activities, make herbal salt, create colourful fingerprint pictures, and even participate in a rally around the station.
The Eva-Lorenz Environmental Station/NABU Station also houses the Benjes hedge exhibition, offering visitors a chance to explore and learn about various hedge species. Inside the station, a large cake counter, a book corner, and a selection of jams and homemade products are available for purchase.
Refreshments, including apple juice, water, coffee, and food from Benno's grill sausage stand, will be provided by a small café under the columns. For those interested in bat and swift conservation, a bat and swift stand is available.
Visitors can also take part in planting opportunities, with donations helping to support the station's ongoing work. The Open Day is a great chance to explore the new school biological station and learn interesting facts about natural gardens.
The Open Day is organised by NABU, and gravel garden consultations can also be found at the Hauptbibliothek Neuss. An information stand about hedgehogs will also be present at the event.
Join us on the 7th of September for a day filled with learning, fun, and discovery at the Eva-Lorenz Environmental Station/NABU Station in Neersen. We look forward to seeing you there!
