RhönSprudel Biosphere Camp 2025: A Family-Friendly Nature Adventure
Nature-based Adventure for Families: RhönSprudel Biosphere Camp 2025
The RhönSprudel Biosphere Camp 2025, held from 5th to 7th August 2025, was a three-day nature adventure designed to bring families closer to the natural wonders of the Rhön Biosphere Reserve. Organised by MineralBrunnen RhönSprudel, a leading German mineral water brand, this event aimed to promote environmental education and nature conservation.
A Variety of Activities for All Ages
The camp offered a diverse range of activities suitable for all family members. Each day started with a two-hour experiential hike to search for animal tracks, followed by workshops and guided tours that taught participants about the local flora, fauna, geology, and the importance of biodiversity in the biosphere reserve.
Exciting Experiences in the Rhön Biosphere
Highlights of the camp included a tour with Rhön llamas, which caused great enthusiasm among all participants, and building nesting boxes for native bird species. Beaver observation was another exciting activity that allowed participants to observe these elusive creatures in their natural habitat.
Collaboration for a Cause
The camp was carried out in cooperation with the youth promotion of the district of Fulda and the Biosphere Rangers of the Hessian part of the Biosphere Reserve Rhön. The event took place in the nature learning garden foal meadow near Hofbieber, with Ebersburg-Weyhers serving as the location.
Sustainable Practices and Corporate Responsibility
Activities emphasised sustainable practices such as reducing waste, recycling, conserving water (reflecting the company's core product), and respecting natural habitats. By sponsoring and organising the camp, MineralBrunnen RhönSprudel demonstrated its commitment to environmental responsibility, linking its brand values to nature conservation beyond just producing mineral water.
A Lasting Connection with Nature
After the experiential hike, participants enjoyed a shared lunch snack and RhönSprudel refreshments before embarking on the next activity. The RhönSprudel Biosphere Camp aims to provide a platform for exploring the secrets of the Rhön and strengthening the bond with nature.
In total, 19 families participated in this year's camp, continuing RhönSprudel's mission to strengthen awareness of the protection of natural habitats and create lasting experiences. The RhönSprudel Biosphere Camp is an initiative that has been offering regular environmental education and nature conservation opportunities since 2009.
Nesting boxes for native bird species were built during the experiential workshops, promoting an outdoor-living lifestyle that encourages habitat preservation. In the home-and-garden area of the nature learning garden foal meadow, sustainable practices such as recycling and water conservation were exhibited, aligning with the company's commitment to corporate responsibility and environmental protection.
