New Bench at Rüsselsheim Shopping Centre Encourages Youth to Connect with Nature
A new bench has been installed at the 'Youth Bed' in the Rüsselsheim shopping centre, serving as a social exchange point for young thugs. The bench was installed on May 4, 2025, but the responsible parties remain unknown. The bench is part of a larger project involving children aged six to ten, who have taken responsibility for plants they have personally planted in a nearby perennial bed.
The perennial bed, co-designed by the children, features honeyberries, lavender, and edible plants. The young participants are eagerly anticipating watching their plants grow and the upcoming harvest. The primary goal of this action is to encourage responsible interaction with nature and foster self-efficacy and self-activity in people. Despite the lack of information about the organisers, the project has been well-received by the local community.
