Nuuly's Upcycled Denim Collection Extends Lifespan of 1,300 Garments
Nuuly, the women's clothing rental subscription service owned by Urban Outfitters Inc., is set to release an exciting capsule collection. This 10-piece range, made in collaboration with Zero Waste Daniel, features upcycled denim clothes. The collection is part of Nuuly's Re_Nuuly initiative, aiming to reduce clothing waste and extend product lifespan.
The collection, made from 1,300 retired denim garments, includes tops, bottoms, and dresses. Prices range from $300 to $400. Nuuly's subscription model, which allows users to rent six items a month for $98, has driven its growth. In 2022, Nuuly saw a $20.3 million increase in net sales, thanks to a 56% rise in active subscribers year-over-year. This success has led to the opening of a new fulfillment center in Raymore, Missouri, expected to triple its active subscriber base.
Since its launch, Re_Nuuly has given new life to over 5,800 previously retired clothes. Urban Outfitters Inc., which owns Nuuly, recently partnered with Stripe for online and in-person payments. The company reported $47.8 million in net income in its most recent earnings report in February.
Nuuly's upcycled denim capsule collection, a result of its partnership with Zero Waste Daniel, is a testament to its commitment to sustainability. With its growing subscriber base and successful Re_Nuuly initiative, Nuuly continues to make strides in reducing clothing waste while offering stylish and affordable rental options.
