Police in the Recklinghausen/Bottrop district are adopting innovative strategies - introducing "AddressBAR" initiatives targeted at young people.

The city of Recklinghausen is set to host a dialogue series called "AnsprechBAR - Die Polizei teilt mit" (The Police Share Information), starting next Thursday, 18th September, at the Paul-Spiegel-Berufskolleg in Dorsten.

This series, aimed at students, will continue to focus on topics such as online dangers, knife violence, radicalization, and civil courage, with the aim of building trust between the police and young people. The police will use an Airstream trailer as an eye-catcher and interactive formats to create a pleasant atmosphere.

The series aims to enlighten about digital crime and everyday dangers, prevent violence and radicalization, promote media competence and critical thinking, and build trust between the police and young people. The topics of discussion will include online dangers, knife violence, radicalization, and civil courage.

The aim is to have an exchange at eye level, with the focus on prevention, enlightenment, and building trust. After Dorsten, the police will bring the dialogue series to every other city in their area of responsibility, with one date scheduled per city for now.

Media representatives are welcome to the events, and a brief registration with the police press office (Tel. 02361-55 1033) is required. The series' dates are available on the Police Headquarters Recklinghausen website (https://recklinghausen.polizei.nrw/) and their social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp).

Press inquiries can be directed to Annette Achenbach at the Police Headquarters Recklinghausen Press Office (Tel. 02361 55 1033, email: [email protected]). The AnsprechBAR dialogue series will make stops at various schools in the Recklinghausen district and the city of Bottrop until early October.

The series will continue to emphasize the importance of dialogue for making a difference. It will be held in a relaxed atmosphere, allowing for conversations with police officers from different departments.

Join us next Thursday for the kick-off of the AnsprechBAR series and engage in open conversations about topics that matter to us all. Let's build a safer community together.
