Renfrew County Launches Silver Chain Challenge for Active Living and Community Bonding

Residents and visitors in Renfrew County are invited to participate in the Silver Chain Challenge, a month-long event in June encouraging active living and community bonding. The challenge, open to everyone, promotes healthy living, active transportation, and friendly competition among the counties in eastern Ontario.

The Silver Chain Challenge, set to take place throughout June, invites participants to walk or bike and track their kilometers. The county logging the most distance by the end of the month will be crowned the winner. Lanark County Warden Toby Randell expressed excitement about the challenge, highlighting its benefits for active living and community bonding.

Participants are encouraged to share their experiences using specific hashtags, such as #RenfrewCounty and #SilverChainChallenge. Renfrew County Warden Peter Emon urges everyone to participate, emphasizing enjoyment and community involvement over competition.

The Silver Chain Challenge offers a fun way to enjoy scenic trails, roads, and parks across eastern Ontario while promoting active living and community spirit. With the county with the most logged distance being named the winner, the challenge fosters a friendly competition among residents and visitors alike.
