Restyled Electric Pagoda Sporting Original Fossil Fuel Appearance
In the heart of Oxfordshire, Everrati, a British startup founded in 2018 by Justin Lunny and Nick Williams, is making waves in the world of classic cars. The company's latest project is the restoration of the Mercedes-Benz SL 'Pagoda', a vehicle that spent most of the nineties and noughties in a barn before being given a new lease of life. The restoration involved over £20,000 worth of new chrome and a beautiful Blu Le Mans hue paint job.
Everrati pours approximately 5,000 man-hours into constructing a fully electric powertrain for each vehicle they restore. The result is a restored vehicle that weighs only 30-90kg more than its petrol counterpart, yet boasts modern features such as heated seats, electric windows, and a socket to charge electronic devices.
The restored Mercedes-Benz SL 'Pagoda' is not just a relic of the past. It has a smooth and linear 300bhp drivetrain, can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in seven seconds, and has a top speed of 124mph. The vehicle also features KW suspension, allowing it to corner like a modern roadster.
The realistic range of the restored vehicle is 220 miles, putting it on par with other small EVs like the Mini. This makes it not only a joy to drive but also practical for everyday use.
Everrati's clients are not just full-on petrolheads. Most are individuals who appreciate the style and spirit of these classic cars. In fact, the restored vehicles are popular among high-net-worth clients, including a few billionaires.
