Rumors have been verified: Frankish brewery unveils plans for a new eatery

The Lippert Brewery, a renowned German brewery known for its Franconian beers, is set to establish a new inn in the heart of Lichtenfels. The project, named "Schulze Schankstube am Markt," is currently under construction in a former business building on the historic market square.

Schulze Schankstube am Markt is envisioned as a traditional yet modern brewpub that offers locally brewed beers by Lippert Brewery, paired with regional and seasonal cuisine. The new beer tavern will be situated on the ground floor of the old sandstone house, previously a stationery store named "H.O. Schulze."

The design of the Schankstube aims to blend classic Franconian tavern charm with contemporary comfort. Rustic wood interiors, cozy seating, and a welcoming atmosphere suitable for families, groups, and solo visitors are all part of the plan.

Besides the brewery’s signature beers on tap, the Schankstube will serve beer specialties, seasonal brews, and a range of traditional dishes such as Franconian roasts, pretzels, and fresh salads made with local ingredients. Friendship beers from other breweries will also be available.

Schulze Schankstube am Markt is not just a place to enjoy a drink and a meal; it will act as a social meeting place, promoting regional identity and craftsmanship through both its brewing and culinary standards. It is also intended to become a small cultural workshop, hosting various events such as beer tastings, live concerts, and monthly parties.

The Lippert Brewery's new project in the Lichtenfelser center is part of a larger project that also includes the creation of six vacation apartments on the floors above the Schankstube. Markus Lippert, CEO of the Lippert Brewery, has confirmed the rumors about the new project and shared plans for the opening in an interview with inFranken.de on August 12, 2025. He plans to open the Schankstube by Korbmarkt in September 2025.
