Soaring Expedition in Küchwald 2025: A Triumph of High-Altitude Flights Spanning Three Days

The Chemnitz Balloon Festival, a much-anticipated event in Germany, is set to return from August 22 to 24, 2025, at the picturesque Chemnitz Küchwald. This year's festival promises a thrilling lineup of hot air, gas, and toy balloons, along with a variety of entertainment for all ages.

The festivities kick off on Friday with the hot air balloon launches at approximately 17:30, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of DJ "Locke" who will provide music and moderation. The evening will be capped off by the live performance of "Thomson Five" on Friday.

Saturday, August 23, will see an array of attractions. Hot air balloon launches are scheduled for the morning, followed by the mesmerising balloon glow at around 21:30. The day will be filled with live music from "The Beefees" and DJ Stani & Tanzschule Emmerling at the park railway station. Clown Fips will entertain children with his performance, and a model train show will captivate train enthusiasts. The highlight of the evening will be the spectacular fireworks, set to light up the sky at approximately 22:30.

On Sunday, August 24, visitors can enjoy more hot air balloon launches in the morning, followed by a day of colourful entertainment on two stages. Live music will be provided by "Pippi and the 50's Boy" and "Magic lesson on Hogwarts" will enchant children. Clown Fips will return for another round of entertainment, and dance groups will perform alongside the PEC band on the station stage.

The festival, which has been running since 2005, will also feature international model balloons, a garden railway show, and toy balloons on the Küchwald meadow. Children's shows, including Silli, will ensure that the younger visitors have a memorable time.
