In a unique blend of education and entertainment, the annual summer creative platform, "Young JDHs," recently held its first creative shift at the Cultural Center of JSC "AK 'JDH'" in Yakutia, Russia. This platform, designed for the children of "Yakutia Railways" employees, marked its fifth year of operation, providing an active, beneficial, and engaging leisure experience during school holidays.

Last Friday, June 27, the event kicked off with Olesya Viktorovna Blynzhnuk, the head of the Cultural Center of JSC "AK 'JDH'," leading the shift. The programme, initiated in 2021, aimed to offer a diverse range of activities that foster creativity, learning, and social interaction among the participating children.

The week-long event, which began on July 1 and will run until July 29, is divided into two creative shifts filled with games, quizzes, master classes, creative and sports activities. The first shift, which concluded on June 27, saw the participation of 26 children aged 6 to 12. They were guided throughout the shift by experienced professional educators, Lyudmila Anatolevna Konoplytskaya and Elena Vasilyevna Smetanina.

During the excursion, the children gained a unique insight into the repair process of locomotives and even had the opportunity to explore the inside of a locomotive. They also visited the "JDH" locomotive depot for a comprehensive tour. The educational aspects of the programme were balanced with fun-filled activities, such as the "Theatrical" and "Musical" stations where the children performed skits and sang songs from cartoons.

On the national holiday of Ысыах, the children showcased their learning during a report concert, which included a theatrical performance, songs, dances, poetry recitation, and games. They also performed a dance to the song "Mother Earth, White Birch" on this occasion. At the "Sports" and "Healthy Lifestyle" stations, they celebrated World Football Day with a friendly match, participated in "fun starts," and an interactive game about healthy living.

Vladimir Petrovich Miroshnik, Deputy General Director of JSC "RZD," spoke at the closing ceremony and thanked the children and educators for their participation. He also presented flowers and memorable gifts at the ceremony.

"Young JDHs" may offer activities tailored to the interests of children related to railways, such as model train building or learning about railway history. For more detailed information about the "Young JDHs" program, it is recommended to contact "Yakutia Railways" directly or check their official website and social media channels.

On the upcoming weekends, children can further immerse themselves in the wonders of the 'Young JDHs' program by participating in home-and-garden themed workshops, where they can learn about planting, decorating, and maintaining their homes in a fun and interactive way. In the spirit of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, these sessions will also educate participants on how to grow and consume organic produce at home.
