Sunday's Date: A blend of antiquity and modernity

Join us for an enlightening journey through our city's rich history and modern architecture on the last Sunday viator of the year, taking place on October 5th at 3 pm. The tour, themed "Old Meets New", will begin at the town hall, Willy-Brandt-Platz, and last approximately 90 minutes.

Our guest guide for the tour will be Gabriele Germer, who will take you on a captivating journey through time, explaining the historical roots of our city and how urban development has evolved throughout the 20th century.

You'll be treated to a unique blend of historical streets, medieval buildings, and newer structures from the 1950s, such as the town hall and the Scharoun School. A special focus will be the visit to St. Georg's Church.

Gabriele will also delve into the architecture of the 1950s, discussing how it was influenced by democratic ideals. The tour will not forget to include a detour to the southern Lippe riverbank, adding a picturesque touch to your experience.

The tour fee is 5 euros per person, payable directly to the guide on the spot. Children and youth up to 15 years can participate free of charge.
