Tesla's Best Q3 Week in China: 19,300 Registrations
Tesla's stock has concluded Q3 2025 with its best weekly performance in China, posting 19,300 insurance registrations for its cars between September 22-28. This marks the third-highest weekly result of the year so far, and the company aims to build on this momentum heading into Q4. Despite a 6.4% decline in cumulative insured units year-to-date compared to 2024, Tesla's strong finish to Q3 has positioned it competitively for the Chinese EV market in Q4. The new Model Y L six-seater contributed around 4,000 registrations in the final week of September, broadening Tesla's lineup in China. The 19,300 registrations represent an 11.9% increase over the prior week and a 14.6% decrease year-over-year. This follows a 26.9% increase in quarter-over-quarter sales in China, although volumes slipped 8.7% compared to Q3 2024. The company's performance has been notable, particularly given the lack of clarity surrounding the CEO of Tesla China during Q3 2025. Tesla's robust Q3 2025 performance in China, culminating in its best weekly result of the quarter, sets the stage for a competitive Q4 in the Chinese EV market. The company's expanded lineup, driven by the new Model Y L six-seater, and its strong sales momentum will be crucial factors in maintaining this competitive edge.
