The Opening Day of NABU-Naturarena Unveiled
Day of the Open Sunday at NABU Nature Arena Wesel: A Celebration of Nature and Conservation
On August 3, 2025, NABU Wesel and NaturGarten Rhein-Ruhr will be hosting the Day of the Open Sunday at the NABU Nature Arena Wesel. The event, open to the public from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, promises a day filled with engaging activities focused on nature and conservation.
Visitors can expect a variety of activities, including guided nature tours, educational workshops, and interactive exhibits about local wildlife and habitats. Dorothea Schulte, a nature garden planner, will demonstrate how to maintain a flower meadow from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. At 11:00 AM, a section of the meadow will be mowed as an example during the demonstration.
For those interested in aquatic life, a guided tour through the biotopes with a focus on ponds will be led by Peter Appels, board member of NABU Kreisverband, at 12:00 PM. Susan Findorff from NaturGarten Rhein-Ruhr will offer a guided tour focusing on various habitat structures in the nature garden at 3:00 PM.
Throughout the day, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase various items such as plants, seed trays, and nesting boxes. The first sweet fruits will be available for tasting and purchase at the event. Coffee and cake will also be provided for visitors during the day.
Loved and leashed dogs are allowed at the event. For the most accurate and detailed schedule of activities planned for the August 3, 2025 event, I recommend checking the official NABU Nature Arena Wesel website or contacting their visitor center closer to the date.
