Turning Trinity Cemetery in Krasnoyarsk into a tourist attraction.
In the heart of Krasnoyarsk, they're putting up an auction for a project aimed at preserving Troitskoye Cemetery. This ancient burial ground, home to dozens of notable Krasnoyarites, is the city's oldest and boasts a status as a cultural heritage site. Plans are underway to make it a tourist attraction by the city's 400th anniversary.
Recently, city officials announced that the cemetery would become a cultural and tourist attraction for the city's milestone anniversary. Current difficulties include gaining access to the graves of esteemed citizens, due to the lack of navigation, historical records, and convenient paths. To address this, the city has commissioned a project for the preservation of this cultural treasure.
The bidding for the project has already started, with an initial maximum contract price of 50 million rubles.
For each cultural heritage object, the contractor must determine the type of required work for each specific grave - this could range from repairs to restoration.
The list includes 31 sites of cultural importance or notable graves, such as the graves of Vasily Surikov's brother and mother, revolutionary Joseph Dubrovinsky, gold magnate and philanthropist Nikolai Gadolov, secretary of the city's Communist Youth League committee Anatoly Gladkov, and architect Pyotr Sharov.
The contractor is expected to plan the zoning of the territory, transport and pedestrian solutions, pedestrian accessibility to cultural burial sites and notable graves, navigation, lighting, placement of small architectural forms, landscaping.
Notably, the lighting fixtures should be chosen in a style that complements the cemetery, and natural materials should be preferred for path and road coverings. If any decaying monuments are found that are not suitable for repair, replacements should be provided. The contract also includes provisions for clearing the area of decaying metal fences with no artistic or historical value, repairs of valuable fences, and lighting and lighting up the fence, gates, and chapel at the entrance.
The contract should also specify local tree and shrub planting and recommendations for landscaping. The contractor should also consider the possibility of installing a video surveillance system.
The winner of the auction will be determined in May, and the work must be completed with the passage of state cultural-historical expertise by 17 November.
Remember, in 2019, an unfortunate incident occurred with the Troitskoye Cemetery when workers removed a damaged part of the brick fence on a section from the monument to Victory to the entrance. The fence was part of a cultural heritage site. After reconstruction, the head of the city's department of urban affairs, Yevgeny Zhvakin, who was leading the department at the time of the demolition, was fined. The city was also required to pay a fine of 100,000 rubles.
