Augsburg Book Bus Adjusts Schedule Due to Staff Shortages
The Augsburg Book Bus, a cherished institution that has been supplying reading material to residents for nearly 70 years, has announced some changes to its schedule due to staff shortages.
The Book Bus will continue to visit various locations around Augsburg, but with a reduced schedule. Here's a breakdown of the new schedule:
- Kriegshaber: Every Monday from 12:00 to 13:30, starting from the 26th of May and running until the 22nd of December 2025.
- Oberhausen: Every Monday from 16:15 to 17:00, also starting from the 26th of May and ending on the 22nd of December 2025.
- Von-Richthofen-Straße 1: Every Thursday from 12:00 to 13:30, starting from the 15th of May and ending on the 11th of December 2025.
- Hochzoll / Süd: On Tuesdays, there will be three sessions: 13:00 to 14:30, 14:45 to 15:30, and 15:45 to 17:00, starting from the 13th of May and running until the 23rd of December 2025.
- Textilviertel: Every Monday from 15:30 to 17:00, with dates from the 2nd of June to the 15th of December 2025.
- Univiertel: Every Thursday from 15:30 to 17:00, with dates from the 15th of May to the 11th of December 2025. (Note: The bus stop has moved a bit further down the street, and is now located at the bus stop for night bus line 92.)
- Inningen: Every Friday from 14:30 to 16:30, with dates from the 23rd of May to the 5th of December 2025.
- Hochzoll / Nord: On Tuesdays, there will be two sessions: 12:00 to 13:00 and 14:15 to 15:30, starting from the 20th of May and ending on the 16th of December 2025.
- Spickel: Every Monday from 14:00 to 15:00, with dates from the 2nd of June to the 15th of December 2025.
- Pfersee: Every Wednesday from 13:00 to 14:30, 14:45 to 15:45, and 16:00 to 17:00, starting from the 14th of May and ending on the 10th of December 2025.
The Book Bus is accessible to wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments. It visits 24 stops every 14 days, and its schedule includes specific times and dates for stops at Bärenkeller, Bergheim, Firnhaberau, Göggingen, Hammerschmiede, Herrenbach, and Hochfeld.
