Weekend Reflections with Zoha Rahman: Exploring the True Concept of Personal Time

Zoha Rahman, the London-based actor and writer, has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry. Known for her role as Zoha Souliotis in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Rahman made history as the first named hijab-wearing character in the Marvel cinematic universe.

Born and raised in Pakistan, Rahman's first form of expression was through writing. Despite growing up without access to acting or dance classes, her passion for the arts never waned. After graduating with a degree in law, Rahman ventured into the world of film, making her debut in 2019.

Rahman's current projects include working on a TV show, a fantasy drama that delves into the roots of the South Asian subcontinent and the breakdown of the Mughal empire. The show also explores a character who pushes away from their community due to their creative side and eventually finds peace and harmony with their culture and roots.

In addition to her TV show, Rahman is also working on a film titled Ethnic Lensing. Details about the film are scarce, but it is known to be about finding one's way back to one's identity and roots after being opposed to that for a long time.

Recently, Rahman starred in Martin Campbell's thriller Dirty Angels, a film now available to rent on digital streaming services.

When not working, Rahman enjoys a relaxing Saturday morning, spending it in bed, ordering in breakfast, taking a walk with her family, and visiting the park with her baby. Weekends still revolve around food and family, much like her childhood.

Rahman is an advocate for arts and creative freedom, particularly in South Asian culture, especially among Muslims, where she believes these aspects are not celebrated as they should be.

In her spare time, Rahman enjoys binge-watching Pakistani shows such as Shehr-e-Zaat and Desperate Housewives. Her husband, a talented cook, makes an amazing ragu and meatball pasta, a favourite meal for Rahman.

One of Rahman's favourite walking spots is the Cassiobury Park splash zone near Watford. For those interested in Pakistani TV shows, Rahman recommends Humsafar as a good starting point.

Despite her success, Rahman remains grounded, always remembering her roots and the journey that led her to where she is today.
