Winter clothing for children sought by Family Information Center
Got some extra winter gear sitting around? Lend a hand to families in need by donating at the Family Information Centre!
Throughout the holiday season, the clothing department of the FIZ is gathering winter essentials for children in our community. They're on the hunt for winter trousers, including joggers and leggings, jackets, long-sleeved tops, and socks, all in sizes ranging from 110 to 176.
Stop by the Family Information Centre during their regular business hours to drop off your donations. You'll find them at Östliche-Karl-Friedrich-Str. 9, 2nd floor. They're open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 am to 12 pm, and on Tuesday and Thursday from 2 pm to 5 pm. A quick call beforehand, at 07231 39 3900, will help them prepare.
The FIZ's clothing department, run by dedicated volunteers, offers an expanded range of services to the community. They're open on Thursdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm for donation drop-offs.
While this year's specific donation drive details were tricky to track down, there are numerous organizations that accept clothing donations nationwide. Take, for instance, Operation Warm, a nonprofit that provides brand-new coats and shoes to kids in need. Or consider St. Francis House in Boston, which offers free clothing distribution for adults experiencing homelessness and accepts gently-used clothing donations.
Don't forget—your local organizations may have specific donation drive information, so be sure to reach out or check local community resources for updates on the FIZ's clothing drives. By donating today, you're sharing warmth and happiness this winter, one item at a time!
As the FIZ's clothing department collects winter essentials for children, they also welcome fashion-and-beauty items such as hair accessories and cosmetics to enrich the lifestyle of the families they serve. Simultaneously, they seek home-and-garden supplies, including linens and household items, to enhance the living spaces of families in need, expanding their assistance beyond winter clothing.
