In the heart of Dortmund-Dorstfeld, the Wilhelmplatz will transform into a vibrant hub of creativity, connection, and celebration this summer. The PLATZ DA! event series, a collaborative initiative between local stakeholders, aims to bring young voices into the public sphere and foster a sense of community.

The series, taking place on three Fridays in August and September 2025, promises an eclectic mix of activities designed to engage people of all ages. From creative workshops and cultural programs to language courses, movement offers, and social events, there's something for everyone.

The first event day on August 15 will delve into the realms of hip-hop and street culture. Participants can take part in a participatory graffiti action, a rap writing workshop, and enjoy sporting activities. The day will also feature a beach area with sun loungers, a polaroid stand for memory photos, and an open stage for spontaneous contributions.

The second event day, on August 29, will focus on sports and exchange. Activities such as a football dartboard, a ball speed measuring device, and henna tattoos offered by the youth group CITO - Circle of Tolerance will be available. Other program points include DJ music, creative offers, a polaroid stand, and open encounter opportunities in the neighborhood store wilma.

The third event day, on September 12, will celebrate community under the theme "Celebrate Community". The day will feature DJ music, creative actions, and the sports mobile. The group CITO will offer henna tattoos, and the neighborhood store wilma will provide space for exchange and refreshment.

Admission to the events is free, and refreshments will be provided. The events will take place from 15:00 to 19:00 each day.

The Respect Office of the Youth Welfare Office, the "Social City" action room coordinator, and the coordination office for diversity, tolerance, and democracy of the city of Dortmund support the PLATZ DA! series. The events are a joint initiative of the Quartiersdemokraten (Quindo e.V.) project and the CVJM Dortmund.
