Obituary: Zahn Gore, Devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather

Zahn Gore, a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, passed away recently. He was born on September 12, 1934, in Arapaho, Oklahoma, and spent his childhood in Bentonville, Arkansas, where he graduated from Bentonville High School.

Zahn served his country with pride in the U.S. Army for two years, some of that time spent in Germany. His love for aviation blossomed during this period, and he learned to fly with the help of the GI Bill. After his military service, Zahn returned to the United States and worked for Shell Oil Company for almost 40 years.

Zahn was an avid gardener and had a garden every year until the last few years of his life. His green thumb was evident in the beautiful blooms that adorned his home. He also had a special way with animals, earning him the title of a 'horse whisperer.' Zahn was an avid hunter, particularly bird hunting, and was a skilled wing shooter and marksman.

In 1955, Zahn married Jean Maire Marosok, and together they had two sons, Larry Dean Gore and Kevan Scot Gore. Tragically, Kevan died shortly after childbirth. Zahn is survived by his wife Jean, his son Larry and wife Laura, his grandsons Isaac Gore and Joseph Gore, his sisters Lois Richardson and Lynda Galyean, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Zahn's family has a rich history that traces back to Wales, England pre-1700 AD. He loved Wyoming deeply and always said that no matter where he lived, it wasn't Wyoming. The family plans to have a private ceremony in May at the grave site in Sheridan. Graveside Services for Zahn will be held with Military Honors on July 30, 2025.

Zahn won the Wyoming State Trap Shooting Championship in 1965, a testament to his love for flying and hunting. He was a pilot of small planes and loved to fly. Zahn's mortal remains will be buried in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, Wyoming. He leaves behind a legacy for his family to be proud of.

Online condolences may be written at www.kanefuneral.com. Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements for Zahn.

Despite a lack of widely available information about Zahn Gore as a public figure, his impact on his family and community is undeniable. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Zahn Gore's passion for gardening and home-and-garden projects, evident in the beautiful blooms that adorned his home, complemented his love for the outdoors, as demonstrated in his avid hunting, especially bird hunting, and his skills as a sportsman. Despite his achievements in sports, such as winning the Wyoming State Trap Shooting Championship in 1965, Zahn's lifestyle was deeply rooted in his family, as seen in his 60 years of devoted marriage to Jean Maire Marosok and his parenting of their son, Larry Dean Gore.
